Remembering Your Loved One

As we gather here in memory, honor and with love for Loved One I pray that the continuing grace, everlasting mercy, unfailing love and unlimited power of the Holy Ghost would embrace, empower, encourage, uphold and strengthen our lives today. In Jesus Name. Amen!

The word that keeps coming to me is Remember.

1. To recall to the mind by an act or effort of memory; to think of again:
2. To retain in the memory; keep in mind; remain aware of.

Remember Loved One

Since Loved One went home to heaven, I am sure we have had many memories and remember many times we have had with her. Never stop REMEMBERING those times and HER life that she lived on this earth. Continue to recall the smiles, the laughter, her face, her voice, the good times and the memories each of you have of Loved One.

Memories of our lives, of our works and our deeds will continue in others. Rosa Parks (1913 - 2005)

As we Remember Loved One we keep her legacy alive!

Remember Loved One

Remember that God is with us.

Hebrews 13:5 (Amplified Bible) for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]

God is with us! He is our best Support System we can have. He is a very present help in our times of trouble and weakness. He has grace that is sufficient to help us in our weak times. His strength will be made perfect in us when we feel weak. Remember that God is with us

Remember the ministry of the Holy Ghost.

John 14:16-17 (Amplified Bible) 16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever-- 17 The Spirit of Truth,

You may come to a place where your strength may not be there. You may feel like this is so hard and how can I continue on? Remember the ministry of the Holy Ghost, where He says,

Its not by might, nor by power but by my Spirit you will overcome! Remember the ministry of the Holy Ghost.

Remember the ministry of Gods Holy Word.

Proverbs 4:20-24 (New Life Version) 20 My son, listen to my words. Turn your ear to my sayings. 21 Do not let them leave your eyes. Keep them in the center of your heart. 22 For they are life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body

God Sent His Word to His People and healed them. His word is alive and powerful re-energizing, instructing, teaching, helping and protecting us at all times!

Remember the ministry of Gods Holy Word

Remember your family, friends and your fellow believers.

We can draw strength from one another. Whether we are an immediate family member, personal friend or fellow believer we can weep with those who weep. We can support, lift up, love, care for and pray for each other.

A little girl was sent to the store on an errand by her mother with specific instructions to go straight to the store and return straight home.  The girl did not arrive home at the expected time, and the mother became anxious and concerned. When the girl finally returned, her mother was quite agitated, and the frustration of the mother came out when she questioned where the girl had been and why it had taken so long. The girl responded that on the way to the store, she stopped to help a friend whose doll had just been broken. The mother was somewhat sarcastic when she asked what she knew about fixing dolls. The little girl said, "I don't know anything about fixing dolls. I just sat down with her for a while and helped her cry."

Remember your family, friends and your fellow believers

Remember we have Hope!

Colossians 1:27 (New Life Version) Christ in you brings hope of all the great things to come.

In the hustle and bustle of everyday living we can sometimes forget that this life is temporary! We are only passing through this land on our way to an Eternal country that is Gods! Where our citizenship belongs to heaven!

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (Amplified Bible) 16 Therefore we do not become discouraged (utterly spiritless, exhausted, and wearied out through fear). Though our outer man is [progressively] decaying and wasting away, yet our inner self is being [progressively] renewed day after day. 17 For our light, momentary affliction (this slight distress of the passing hour) is ever more and more abundantly preparing and producing and achieving for us an everlasting weight of glory [beyond all measure, excessively surpassing all comparisons and all calculations, a vast and transcendent glory and blessedness never to cease!], 18 Since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting.

We are not hopeless. We are going to be united together again with Loved One

1 Thessalonians 4:17 (Amplified Bible) 17 Then we, the living ones who remain [on the earth], shall simultaneously be caught up along with [the resurrected dead] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so always (through the eternity of the eternities) we shall be with the Lord! 18 Therefore comfort and encourage one another with these words.

Leighton Ford is an evangelist, who, for many years worked as an associate to Billy Graham.  His son, Sandy, died an untimely death, and in spite of his strong faith, Leighton struggled with that loss. Even though he fully understood that he could not literally communicate with his departed son, Leighton kept a journal in which he wrote imaginary "conversations" with his son; it was his way of expressing things that were on the inside of him and bringing proper closure to the relationship.  In one of these imaginary conversations, Leighton wrote:

"Sandy, I sure do miss you.  I think about you more now than I did when you were here on earth."
"I know you do dad, and I hear those thoughts” I guess I'm just afraid that as our time goes on here, that I'll lose the sense of nearness we once had." "But why?" Sandy responded, "It's just like one big long day here, dad, and besides that, you're not moving away from me, you're moving toward me.  And the wall between us is so thin, you would laugh if you could see it." "Thanks son, it's getting late, I'd better get to bed. Enjoy the stars." "It's day here dad, enjoy the light."

There is hope that we will be with Loved One again!

Remember we have Hope!

Remember where Loved One is right now!

Philippians 1:21 (Amplified Bible) 21 For me to live is Christ [His life in me], and to die is gain [the gain of the glory of eternity]. 23 to be with Christ, for that is far, far better;

Today Loved One is alive forever in heaven with God. Today Loved One is in the eternal glory of heaven with Christ, which is far better. She is in the presence of Gods Angelic Host and all the saints of the Kingdom of heaven. She is living in a Mansion that our Lord Jesus promised to prepare for her. She is on a daily basis strolling through the streets of heaven that are paved with Gold. She is drinking of the River of life and eating of the fruit off of the tree of life. She is completely whole and perfect. She is in total peace, righteousness and joy in the undisturbed presence of Almighty God. Suzie is in the grandstands of heaven looking down on us today and cheering us on to never give up and to keep pressing towards the mark for the prize of Gods High calling in Christ! Shes telling us today that shes better than shes ever been

As believers of the Lord Jesus Christ there is no such thing as a final goodbye! The sting of death has been removed through the work of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Heb 2:14-15 tells us that Jesus Himself tasted of physical death that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is the devil and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Jesus was also raised victorious over death and the grave giving to us an everlasting entrance into the presence of God.

1 Corinthians 15:54-55 (New International Version) "Death has been swallowed up in victory."
55 "Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?"

Let us Remember that Today Loved One is telling us that she has the Victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Death has been defeated and she is truly in the presence of the Lord.

As I conclude this service this morning I want to encourage you today that God is a God of love and a God who loves you very much. I can assure you through the Holy Scripture that Loved One is in the presence of the Lord. And we have a certain hope that as Jesus made entrance into heaven for Loved One, He will surely make entrance to any one who puts there trust in Jesus and receives His free gift of eternal life the same way Loved One has.

So today lets celebrate Loved Ones Life and look forward to the day that we will be reunited together with her again.
